Basalite Bullnose Coping in Brentwood, CA

Bullnose Coping is a coping and edge unit, not a field paver. The defining feature is the rounded, softened front edge that gives the unit its name. It is used wherever a paved surface stops and needs a finished edge rather than a raw cut face. The primary application is pool coping: the bullnose forms the rounded lip around a pool where it meets the water, giving a comfortable, safe edge for swimmers pulling themselves out and eliminating the sharp corner a square-cut paver would leave.
It is also used as a step tread nose, as a cap on seat walls and low walls, and as a finished edge on raised patios and terraces. Coping is almost always specified alongside a field paver rather than on its own, and the six colors are shared with several Basalite paver lines so the coping can either match the surrounding paving or be run in a deliberate contrast to define the pool edge. A contrasting coping color is a common design choice because it visually outlines the pool shape.
Applications are pool and spa coping, step treads, wall caps, raised patio edges, and terrace edging. Commonly specified alongside Artisan Slate and Sierra Collection as field pavers, and paired with Column Cap as another finishing unit.
