    Positano
    Torino

Basalite Brisa is a segmental retaining wall block laid in a random ashlar pattern, and that is what separates it from the other Basalite wall systems. Rather than a single repeating unit, Brisa combines several block heights and lengths so the coursing varies across the wall and no pattern repeats predictably. The result reads as hand-laid dry-stacked stone rather than a manufactured block wall, which is the main reason to choose it over a uniform-course system like Bayfield. The face carries a natural cleft texture with a chiselled edge.

Brisa serves two distinct uses. As a retaining wall it holds back soil on a slope, creating usable level ground on a graded lot. As a freestanding unit it builds seat walls, planter surrounds, fire pit enclosures, and low garden walls finished on both faces. Brisa is available in both configurations. Curved and serpentine layouts are straightforward with segmental block.

The three colors span cool gray in Flint, warm blended tones in Positano, and mid-gray in Torino. Applications are terraced slopes, raised planting beds, seat walls, fire pit surrounds, grade transitions, and feature walls where the stonework itself is meant to be a visual element rather than just structure. Because the random pattern is more visible than a uniform course, Brisa suits walls in prominent positions — front yards, entry courtyards, and walls seen from the house — where a plain block wall would look utilitarian.

Wall height and reinforcement requirements depend on site conditions, and taller walls may require engineering. Contact the yard to discuss your project and we can help determine the right system for your wall height. We encourage customers to see full-size units at the Brentwood yard, since a random ashlar pattern cannot be judged from a single swatch.
